what software do I need to run ASP .NET page?

    All,

I am running Windows Me, IE 6, PWS, .NET Framework SDK Beta 2 setup. My
objective is to run a simple ASP .NET page on my system. When I run a .aspx
page with IE 6 browser, all the time I see a blank/white screen with no output.
The satatus bar shows, 'Done, but with errors on page". I doubl clicked the
status bar to see the error. It just says line 8, char 5, expected ; - that
is all, nothing much. I am sure the page is valid. The page contains some
    VB code as follows:

    Sub Page_Load
    lblDate.Text = Now.ToString( "D" )
    End Sub

The PWS works well for ASP page and gives correct output. The ASP .NET tutorail
site says that .NET Framework Beta 2 (I have installed) is enough to run
ASP .NET page and nothing else is needed. What am I missing here. Please
help me here, which will be really great - my friends. I am new to .NET realm.

    Thanks,
    Syed.

I think you should install IIS.

    Syed,

I always seem to be the one that has to deliver the bad news.... You CAN'T
use Windows ME to host ASP.NET pages. You must have 2000/XP with IIS 5.0+
installed in order to serve-up ASP.NET pages. PWS will not cut it.

    Sorry,
    Ian

PS. Get a .NET account from one of the many providers. gotdotnet has a
    link to most of them.
