run time error - invalid page fault

I have written a small program to calculate factorial 99 which compiles without
any errors but when I run it after calculating factorial 40 it crashes with
the error mesage 'invalid page fault" any ideas on what would cause this
    kind of error?

    thanks Paul

Debug your pointers (carefully) in your source code. More than likely, the
    problem is hidden there.

post some of the actual code. Two likely causes are infinite recursion
that causes stack overflow, or dangling pointers.
