    Read Only??

    hi.
need some advice...anyone will be grateful

am using ASP to extract data to fill up a form page call
Edit page. This page provides user the ability to change
the data. Upon submit, another ASP page will be called upon
to process the data and then store back to its location,
    namely updating.

However i keep getting error upon calling the data processing
    page.

    Here it goes

    ....
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Driver Error 80004005

    [microsoft][odbc microsoft access driver]Cannot Update.
Database or Object is read only
    ....

knowing that its read only, how can i make it readable?

Are you sure that your Access DB file dont have ead-only permission???Check
    it .
And another solution can be - close Access at your computer and after that
    run asp script.

You need to change the permissions on IIS so that the MS Access database that
you are writing to will allow you to write to it.

    Re: Read Only??

    hi

i managed to get it work using

    1. objrs.open "table1", objconn, adOpenDynamic,
    adLockOptimistic

this is something i used to create seesion with the table

however, my initial open session was

    2. objrs.open strSQL, objconn, adOpenDynamic,
    adLockOptimistic, adCmdText

    where my strSQL is

    Select * from table1, table2
    where table1.fieldid =table2.fieldid

anyone any clue why 1 work and not 2??????????????
